About Stephen
The author of this brand new fantasy series, Stephen J. Ethier, was born in Trenton, Ontario and soon moved to Peterborough in the Kawartha Lakes region where he spent his first 28 years engaged in various forms of mischief like long distance biking, skiing, rock collecting and tennis as well as some formal education including graduating from Peterborough Collegiate, an academic high school, and Fleming College in engineering drafting and design. He was the youngest of the four siblings in his family.
At an early age, Ethier began his lifelong pattern of excelling at everything he attempted despite his lack of formal education in the area. He paints and draws with precision and feeling, carves, sculpts and builds with real talent, and was a wonderful teacher with boundless patience and enthusiasm. He even moved quickly from novice to expert in most sports he attempted. And, when it comes to the written word, his ability to paint vivid pictures is one of his most stunning gifts as a writer.
In his first post graduate job, without a single computer course under his belt, he brought the company that employed him into the modern computer age, training the entire company on a variety of software applications. In his career as a college instructor in the New Brunswick college system, he taught ages 18-senior in a variety of disciplines. And, as time went on, he developed his burgeoning skills into many academic books on AutoCAD, modeling in three dimensions, architectural design, animation, mechanical design and other things in that broad field. Consequently, Ethier has approximately 35 titles in non-fiction.
And to add to all this, he has a lifelong interest in science fiction and fantasy, both the reading and the writing of it. This is the first work he has produced on this scale. In fact, he even designed and drew the cover art for this first novel. He is already at work on the second book in the trilogy.
Stephen is now retired from teaching and lives on the East coast of Canada with his wife of 37 years, Christine, and their three fur babies, Frodo, Tessa and Tinkie. The couple likes to travel, read, and go to the movies. Stephen nurtures hobbies as diverse as photography, electronics, robotics, horticulture and many forms of writing as well as a variety of graphic arts disciplines.
Stephen has two other websites that he administers. They are listed below.
