The Void Revealed
Sitting atop the Spire, the residents of Windhold live their lives in balance between the theocratical Brotherhood and the secular leadership of the Sentinel. That is, until a shocking force of destruction, known as the Fury, threatens to return to cleanse their world of all life. In the time since the last Fury, the corruption inside the spiritual body on the Spire has grown and twisted and ultimately left all the peoples at the mercy of a madman.
It will be up to Brand, a Sentry Guard with lowly beginnings on the agricultural land of Riftown, and Elise, a young, untested woman who is next in line to be Sentinel to retake Windhold to save all the people of their world.
When Elise is intentionally stranded in the Void by a Brotherhood sabotaged airboat and Brand ventures into the forbidden land to recover her, the unlikely pair collect a motley bunch of compatriots to aid in their quest to return home.
Along with the Sentry Guards that were companions and swords to Brand, there is a very reluctant Marten, a junior member of the Brotherhood and Jeverit, a savage born and raised in the Void, they are aided by a large black bird named Kree with whom Brand shares a very close bond, an elderly man with some surprising knowledge and powers of his own and finally Chuff, now sister to Elise, an enormous Shemra, a bipedal feline, with fierce claws and even fiercer loyalties.
